String Compositions
Aire de Zamba
This work (originally composed in 2016) represents my early style, including the Dorian Greek mode from my Jazz influences. It was inspired by the North of Argentina region (my mother’s origin), Zamba is a slow/medium tempo dance very popular. Aire means “in the style of”, not exactly traditional.
Bucolic Sketches
Bucolic Sketches was inspired by Alberto Ginastera’s Obertura para el fausto criollo (1943)
which is from his early period referred to as “Objective Nationalism” (1934-1948). Objective
Nationalistic works often integrate Argentine folk themes in a straightforward fashion, while
works in the later periods incorporated traditional elements in increasingly abstracted forms. Intermediate to advanced difficulty. 7 page score.
Rhapsody on Themes by Debussy for viola and guitar

New York Impromptus for String Trio
I. Tango
II. Interlude
III. Danza
These Impromptus are based on my Argentine Piazzolla/Ginastera influences, with New York jazz harmonies and also inspired by the renowned Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki's String Trio (1991).
MILONGA y MISTERIO • for Cello and Guitar
This Argentine-style slow Milonga is dedicated to tango pianist Octavio Brunetti – a New York colleague who passed away from a mysterious virus in 2014. The piece is to be played rubato espressivo. Dynamics might be adjusted to optimize balance.
The work also includes Whole Tone harmony from my Debussy influences.
